What is a kitchen carcass?
A kitchen carcass is the bare outer frame on which cabinets and shelving are attached to. Kitchen carcasses can be made in chipboard, melamine, or solid wood. A kitchen fitter will install the kitchen carcass first and add drawers and hang doors/cabinets doors from the frame.

What is a box pilaster?
The box pilaster is made up of three supplied mouldings and used with 19mm veneered end panels and an intermediate rail. The box pilaster may be used to enclose units fixed to the wall as well as with freestanding combinations of units. The doors of the unit should be flush with the end cap of the box pilaster. The depth of the veneered side panel is the combined depth of the units with doors minus 10mm for each end cap. The visible faces of the panels should be veneered and the corners cut back at 45°.

What is a high gloss door?
The doors are made by applying High Gloss solid coloured acrylic sheets, over an MDF core then finishing edges in matching acrylic edging, aluminium or PVC.

What is a high gloss lacquer door?
With a High Gloss lacquered door, the individual doors are made of MDF and sprayed with a high-gloss acrylic lacquer.

What is a vinyl wrap door?
A vinyl wrap door is a door that is made up of MDF panels which are cut, routed, profiled and sanded. They are then glued and covered with a vinyl film that is pressed to the door under vacuum. The back of the door is usually pre-laminated.

How durable are vinyl wrapped doors?
Agetek doors are made for the kitchen environment but are also perfect for the bedroom too. Our high quality MDF doesn’t warp or bow and our vinyl wrap doesn’t stain or discolour and can be cleaned easily with non-abrasive home cleaning products.

What is a veneered door?
A veneered door is a door that is made up of either a solid or hollow core and veneer faces. Veneer is a thin sheet of rich-coloured wood (such as mahogany or ebony) cut in decorative patterns and applied to the surface of a piece of furniture.

What is MDF?
MDF or Medium Density Fibreboard, is made out of wood waste fibres combined with resin, heat and pressure. MDF is used for many applications as it is uniform, smooth and won’t warp.

Wood corbels can support the weight of a shelf or counter above while enhancing the style of a piece. Corbels are available in a variety of styles, including many with detailed cuts and designs.

What is a window pelmet?
A window pelmet is a framework that is placed above a window, used to conceal curtain fixtures. Window pelmets can help to insulate the window by preventing convection currents. They can also be used decoratively.

What is a scooped cornice?
Cornices ideal for finishing the top of kitchen cabinets. A scoop style cornice moulding is styled in a more decorative way to a plain cornice or ledge. Cornice mouldings are very easy to install as opposed to plaster or wood cornices which have a tendency to split.

What is melamine or melamine faced chipboards?
Melamine is a chemical compound which has a number of uses. It is found inside most chipboard products, and melamine is also used as a facing material to make laminates and veneers. Melamine Faced Chipboard is an engineered wood product made from scrap wood materials such as wood chippings, sawmill shavings or sawdust. These materials are glued together with melamine resin which is pressed and extruded. Melamine Faced Chipboard can be superior to actual wood where high strength is needed as MFC is very dense and extremely strong. MFC is used to increase sturdiness and lower costs in products like furniture.

A headboard is a piece of furniture that attaches to the head of a bed. Usually, it is attached to the frame of the bed, but in some cases, it may simply rest behind the bed.

A radiator cabinet is a cover for the radiator that is designed to improve efficiency. Radiator cabinets create better air flow and more efficient convection.

How does an extractor fan work?
An extractor fan is an electrical appliance used for ventilation of a room or an enclosed space. The extractor fan makes the room less humid by extracting moisture from the room. It is usually equipped with some tools that measure the moisture in the room. These methods employed make the extractor fans work at their optimum and provide best ventilation. This set up ensures removal of moisture and prevent its condensation.
